Scientific Research and Innovation at VNUA
VNUA is among the country’s leading institutions in agricultural research, implementing hundreds of national, ministerial, and international research projects each year. Its research strengths span a wide range of fields, including high-quality crop and livestock breeding, biotechnology applications, precision agriculture, digital transformation, agricultural economics, climate change, and sustainable development. The outcomes of VNUA’s research have been extensively transferred into practice, delivering tangible benefits for farmers, enterprises, and the agricultural sector at large.
Beyond its role as a center for research and education, VNUA actively fosters an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the field of high-tech agriculture. Through its Center for Excellent Research and Innovation, the University incubates creative ideas, supports business linkages, and facilitates the commercialization of research-based products. Modern laboratories, experimental facilities, and demonstration zones provide opportunities for students, faculty, and enterprises to test and apply new technologies in real-world contexts.
VNUA also maintains extensive international partnerships with more than 100 universities, research institutes, and enterprises worldwide. It is a strategic partner in numerous international research and development programs, academic exchanges, and joint training initiatives, particularly in areas such as food security, green transition, smart agriculture, and sustainable rural development. This global network enables faculty and students to access advanced knowledge, broaden academic horizons, and participate in international research and learning opportunities.
With its vision to become a leading research-oriented university in agriculture and rural development in the region, VNUA is committed to continuous innovation, creativity, and international integration. Placing people at the center of its mission, the University emphasizes practice-based education, equality in access to learning opportunities, and support for disadvantaged groups such as rural youth, ethnic minorities, and communities in remote areas. In doing so, VNUA contributes to the realization of a green, smart, high-value, and sustainable agriculture in the context of globalization and climate change.
