International Cooperation

Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) is one of Vietnam’s key national universities, with the mission of training and providing high-quality human resources, conducting research, and transferring scientific and technological knowledge in the fields of agriculture and rural development. VNUA offers multi-disciplinary and multi-level education with 49 undergraduate majors (standard programs) across 67 specializations, 22 master’s programs, and 18 doctoral programs. The University not only trains in traditional fields such as agriculture, aquaculture, and veterinary medicine, but also in business, economics, management, engineering, technology, and social sciences. Notably, the university offers 5 advanced, high-quality programs taught in English. Since its establishment, the university has trained over 100,000 engineers and bachelors, more than 10,000 master’s graduates, and over 600 PhDs. Many graduates of VNUA have taken on important roles in government agencies, political and socio-political organizations, and enterprises. With its achievements in education, scientific research, and international cooperation, the university has made significant contributions to the development of Vietnam’s agriculture and rural areas over the past decades.

The university carries out three core missions: teaching, scientific research, and technology transfer. To fulfill the task of developing human resources for the agricultural sector assigned by the Party and State, over the years, in addition to state investment, the university has continuously expanded its partnerships with agencies and universities both domestically and internationally. With the close guidance and strong support of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and various Party and Government agencies at both central and local levels, VNUA was awarded certificates of merit by the Ministry of Education and Training in 1999 and 2001 for its achievements in international relations.

International Cooperation

In alignment with the foreign policy of the Party and State—especially Resolution II of the Central Committee on Education & Training and Science & Technology—VNUA’s international relations work has continuously expanded in both quantity and quality since 1998. The university has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with nearly 120 universities and research institutes in 25 countries, along with many international organizations, creating opportunities for thousands of staff members and students to engage in international exchange programs. Every year, VNUA sends thousands of its staff and students abroad for academic exchanges and internships at prestigious universities and enterprises around the world, while also welcoming many international delegations to visit and study at the university.

VNUA has also successfully attracted numerous international cooperation programs and projects. Its international cooperation activities are diverse, including establishing relationships with agricultural organizations through information exchange, signing MOUs, exchanging and training staff and students, developing and implementing bilateral and multilateral cooperation projects, securing funding and sponsorship projects, and co-organizing international conferences and workshops, among others.
